19-Car Pileup During Height Of Storm Among Hundreds Of Crashes Reported In Region
This story has been updated. A 19-car-pileup during the height of the Nor'easter was one of numerous storm-related crashes in the region, although most motorists stayed off roadways. At least six people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that shut down part of the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan Wednesday, Dec. 16 during the evening hours as the snow was beginning to pile-up. Greenwich Woman Charged With DWI In Upstate NY Stop
Several Hudson Valley motorists were among 29 drivers busted by New York State Police troopers recently as law enforcement agencies in the area continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving. Among the local motorists charged include: Orange County On Friday, Sept. 21, State Police troopers from Catskill arrested Tasha Purdy, 27, of Walden, for DWI. I-84, I-684 Travel Restrictions In Effect
State Thruway officials have restricted travel on major roadways throughout the area during the nor'easter. The authority put out an advisory Wednesday asking motorists to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary and have banned travel by all commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, high-profile truck, and buses on all major highways.
