Six New Flu-Related Deaths Reported In Connecticut With the worst of flu season still to come, Connecticut saw a spike in flu-related deaths statewide last week, bringing the total to 13 for the season. According to the Department of Health, the flu is currently “widespread” statewide, with a total of 643 influenza-related hospitalizations reported since the beginning of the flu season. As of Saturday, Jan. 11, there has been a total of 13 deaths reported, all from residents over the age of 65. There have been no influenza-associated pediatric deaths reported.
