Two Families Displaced After CT House Fire
The American Red Cross is aiding two families in Connecticut after a fast-acting fire tore through a Litchfield County home. First responders were dispatched to a residential fire on Old North Road in Barkhamsted at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, according to Connecticut State Police. The final list of names of those who perished in a massive fire in a New York City apartment building that claimed the lives of 17 people, has been released. The names of the last three victims were released by the NYPD Wednesday, Jan. 12. The youngest was 2 years old. The victims ranged in age from 2 to 50 years old. Apartment Fire Leaves One Unit Inhabitable, Damages Another, Norwalk Fire Officials Say
A fire in a third-floor apartment building left one apartment inhabitable and damaged another in Norwalk. The fire took place around 5:39 p.m., Thursday, June 25, in the kitchen of the apartment at 9-11 Wall Street, said Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Edward Prescott. After arriving at the scene, firefighters forced their way into the unoccupied apartment and finished extinguishing the fire, that the sprinkler had kept in check, Prescott said. Bridgeport Porch Fire Displaces Eight Residents
Firefighters responded to a porch fire that left eight residents displaced in Bridgeport. The incident took place around 3:27 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 475 Putnam St, where firefighters found a fire on the porch area of the three-story residence, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Fire Department. Home Destroyed In Trumbull Fire
An early morning fire on the second floor of a Trumbull home left the residence "unlivable." The Trumbull Fire Department responded to the fire around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at 14 Chatham Drive, the department said. The first firefighters on the scene confirmed an active fire on the second floor of the single family residential structure. Residents were safely evacuated as firefighters from Trumbull Center, Nichols and Long Hill Fire departments responded to the scene and attacked the blaze.
