Captain Donald Anderson Named Darien's New Chief Of Police
Captain Donald Anderson has been named Darien Chief of Police. He will take over as the Darien Police Department’s 11th Chief of Police when Chief Ray Osborne retires at the end of the summer, according to the Darien Police Commission. Anderson has been a member of the Darien Police Department since 1983, and currently holds the position of Captain of the Administrative Services Bureau. Three Darien Police Officers Promoted
The Darien Police Commission and Police Chief Ray Osborne have announced the promotions of three officers on Wednesday, May 29. Nick Aranzullo, who started with the department in 2005, was promoted to Lieutenant. In 2009, Lt. Aranzullo assisted with the coordination of the K-9 program and formed the department’s first K-9 unit with canine partner “Zulu.” Lt. Aranzullo also served in the Detective Bureau, receiving a promotion to the rank of Sergeant in 2017. Darien Police Chief Calls It A Career After Nearly 40 Years In Law Enforcement
After a nearly 40-year career, Darien Police Chief Ray Osborne has officially announced his retirement. Osborne notified the Darien Police Commission and First Selectman Jayme Stevenson earlier this week that he will be retiring on September 1. Osborne’s career began in 1983 after working with the Easton Police Department in 1981. In December of 1996, he was appointed to the Detective Division.
