New Cases Of Dangerous, Rare Tick-Borne Disease Confirmed In New England New cases of the rare and dangerous tick-borne infection known as the Powassan virus have been reported in multiple New England residents. The Rhode Island Department of Health announced that a 70-year-old Providence County resident had been diagnosed with the virus, with a second case was also confirmed in a Maine resident. The flight, which originated in Manchester-Boston Regional Airport was on its way from New Hampshire to Orlando, Florida, when it was struck, airport officials said.  *The aircraft landed safely at Bradley International Airport at approximately 7 p.m.," said Alisa D.
