CT Police Officer Arrested For Domestic Violence, Police Say A Connecticut cop has been arrested for family domestic violence including strangulation and placed on leave from his job. New Haven Police Officer Ruben Parra, was arrested Friday, Jan. 28, after officials from the North Branford Police Department presented information to the State's Attorney's for a warrant, said Scott Shumway of the New Haven PD. The domestic incident took place on Tuesday, Jan. 25, Shumway said. Man Found Shot To Death In Fairfield County Home, Police Say Police are investigating after a man was found dead from gunshot wounds inside a Fairfield County home when officers responded to a disturbance call. The incident took place around 11:50 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 20 at a home located at 16 Nelson Ave., in Norwalk. According to Lt. Terrence Blake, of the Norwalk Police, the man was found dead from gunshot wounds after officers responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance. Police Charge Easton Man In Hit-Run Crash That Killed Woman, 32, In Fairfield Police have charged a local man in connection to a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a woman in Fairfield County over the July 4th weekend. Marileidy Morel Araujo, 32, of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, was killed in the crash that happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4 in the Town of Fairfield in the area of 2000 Redding Road. Araujo was visiting family in Fairfield and was walking her dog at the time of the crash, police said. Norwalk Police Department Welcomes New Officers Norwalk Police have added two new officers to their ranks.  During a ceremony on Monday, Dec. 9, Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling sworn in Matt Sauer and Brent Crawford, said the Norwalk Police Department. Sauer has been in law enforcement for 21 years, serving with the NYPD and most recently with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department, where he retired as a captain.  Crawford comes from the Orange Police Department, where he has served for the past three years.  Both officers will complete the field training program before being assigned to the Patrol Divis…

Norwalk Police Welcome New Officer The Norwalk Police Department recently welcomed its newest police officer, Officer Kristen Curran.  Curran, who has three experience as a police officer, comes from the UConn Police Department and has a degree in finance from Fairfield University. She also has a brother who is a police officer in New York.  She will be assigned to the Patrol Division upon completion of the Field Training Program.
