Just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, the Darien Police Department responded to Middlesex Commons/Hale Lane on a report of a motor vehicle crash.  Responding officers discovered the 80-year-old woman was struck in the parking area by her own vehicle, Darien PD Capt. Woman Charged With DUI After Leaving Scene Of Crash, New Canaan Police Say An allegedly drunk driver was tracked down by police in Fairfield County after being involved in a motor vehicle crash at a grocery store parking lot before attempting to flee, New Canaan Police investigators said.
