Fire crews responded after a container of rolled electrical conduit caught fire in Fairfield County, producing toxic smoke. Firefighters in Norwalk arrived at the blaze on Meadow Street at about 1 p.m. on Monday, May 9, according to the Norwalk Fire Department. Officials said the plastic burns at high temperatures, which caused the toxic smoke. A man who was already on probation was busted by police on drug and weapon charges after a brief struggle when officers spotted him with a pistol in his waistband. Norwalk Woman Charged With Hitting Cop After Crash
NORWALK, Conn. — Police arrested a Norwalk woman after she reportedly fled from the scene of a car accident, hit an officer and failed a field sobriety test on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hour. Police told the Hour that 32-year-old Lyndsey Phillips was involved in an accident at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Meadow Street just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.
