Man Charged In Brutal Beating Murder Of Fairfield County Resident
After almost four years a Connecticut man has been charged in connection with a brutal beating murder of a Fairfield County man in front of a grocery store.
Luis Hernandez, age 44, of Waterbury, was arrested by US Marshals on a warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 4, and charged in the 2019 murder of Miguel Lopez, age 46, in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport.
The warrant had been obtained by the lead detective on the case, Bridgeport Det. Martin Heanue, Appleby said.

Second Suspect Charged For Shooting Death Of Man In Fairfield County
Police have arrested a Fairfield County man in connection with the alleged killing of a Connecticut man who was gunned down during a robbery of $130 and cellphones.
James Howard, 28, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 7, in connection with the Saturday, Aug. 13 murder of New Haven County resident Troy Walker, age 21, of Ansonia, on Knowlton Street.
According to Capt. Kevin Gilleran, Howard with was charged with felony murder and robbery for his role in the homicide, which also wounded two others.

Fairfield County Man Nabbed For Murder Of Another Man Following Fight, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been charged with shooting and killing another man following a fight at an area bar.
Tivon Taylor, age 40, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, March 28, for fatally shooting Fredrick Shelby on Friday, March 18.
Following an investigation, Captain Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police, said Taylor followed Shelby, age 43, of Bridgeport, out of Tae’s Lounge, located at 1014 Stratford Ave., after the two men exchanged words inside.
Taylor then allegedly shot Shelby multiple times before walking away, Gilleran said.

Two Fairfield County men have been arrested for the alleged illegal sale of alcohol at an after-hours clubs where two men were gunned down last month.
Josiah J. Israel, age 37, and Christopher Mojica, age 35, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Wednesday, June 2 by Bridgeport Police.

Police in Fairfield County are investigating a homicide in which a man was fatally shot while looking out the window of his home in response to a noise.
The incident took place around 2 a.m., Saturday, March 13, in the 2100 block of Seaview Avenue in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.

Video: Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Witnesses Of Bridgeport Homicide
Bridgeport Police are asking the public for help in identifying persons of interest and potential suspects in the murder of a Monroe man.
Jose Perez-Ortiz, 41, was killed around 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, outside a store at Shelton Street and Noble Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police
According to Jones, video surveillance in the area shows Perez-Ortiz attempting to stab a man who then pulled a gun and fired, striking him.
