Norwalk Man Dressed In Camo With Gun Apprehended, Police Say A Fairfield County man dressed in full camouflage carrying what appeared to be an AK-47 was nabbed lying prone on a city bike path. The incident took place in Norwalk around 9:15 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 14 at the intersection of Maple Street and Van Buren Avenue. Officers responded to the area after receiving several calls and found Brandon Wagshol, age 26, of Norwalk, lying prone on the bike path to the rear of Lynes Place, said Sgt. Fatal Crash: 45-Year-Old Struck By SUV In Norwalk A 45-year-old man died as a result of injuries suffered when he was struck by a SUV in Fairfield County. Joseph Velez, of Norwalk, was riding a moped when the incident happened  around 10 p.m., Friday, July 21 at Maple Street and Van Buren Avenue, authorities say. Sgt. Sofia Gulino of the Norwalk Police said Velez was transported to Norwalk Hospital with significant injuries and was later pronounced dead. Norwalk Woman Charged With DUI After Fleeing Scene Of Crash In Darien, Police Say A woman from Norwalk was arrested and faces DUI charges after getting into an accident and fleeing the scene, Darien Police say. Officers responded to the intersection of Post Road and Brookside Road on Wednesday, Dec. 26 around 3 p.m. after hearing a report of a motor vehicle accident. The other party involved in the accident was able to provide a license number, and a Norwalk officer eventually located the vehicle on West Avenue near Maple Street.
