Roadway Reopens After Large Protest This story has been updated. A stretch of I-84 has reopened after hundreds protesting police-related deaths entered the highway. The closure, in both directions, was between exits 4 and 5 in Danbury on Wednesday, June 3 and lasted about an hour, starting just before 2:30 p.m. The protest began on Main Street early in the afternoon with more than 1,000 people. A smaller amount, but still in the hundreds, then proceeded to the interstate. Other protests are planned for this afternoon in Fairfield County in New Canaan and Stamford. According to a post by Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton on Monday, April 20, the bear was spotted on Main Street and New Street Fire House. The bear was spotted and photographed by Danbury City Council President Joe Cavo. No word back from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection if the bear is tagged or will be relocated.  At least he has plenty of room to roam.

ID Released For Teen Killed In I-84 Fairfield County Crash A teenager who was killed in a fiery crash on I-84 has been identified. Danbury resident Liam Declan Devine, 17, was driving west on I-84 shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 near Exit 9 in Newtown when he lost control of his vehicle, Connecticut State Police said. Devine traveled through the grass out of control, over an embankment and into a tree. When Devine struck the tree, his vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
