Motorcyclist Killed After Striking Fence, Tree A 44-year-old Connecticut man was killed just after midnight on Thursday, Nov. 7, when he was thrown from his motorcycle following a crash in Fairfield County, authorities said.  The man was driving west on Long Ridge Road near Brook Run in Stamford when his 2014 BMW hit a fence and then a tree, authorities said.  The Stamford man was thrown from the bike and died at the scene, police said. Search On For Suspects In Stamford Liquor Store Burglary Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying two men who allegedly broke into a liquor store and made off with liquor and cigarettes. The incident took place in Stamford at Wagon Wheel Liquors on Long Ridge Road around 4:20 a.m., on Monday, May 29. According to Stamford Police Sgt. Sean Scanlan, the two men broke the glass on the front door and made entry taking liquor and cigarettes.  The loss of items and damage was over $5,000. Expect Delays: Long Ridge Road Resurfacing Starts There will be lane closures in Stamford for several days as crews begin a road resurfacing project in on Long Ridge Road. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, May 14, there will be a 2.7-mile project performed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the road that is expected to last through Friday, May 18.
