Anne M. McDermott, 78, passed away February 15, 2023. Anne was born May 25, 1944 in Port Chester and was an alumna of Port Chester High School. She lived most of her life in Larchmont with short residencies in Harrison, Pelham, and Stamford, CT. She tried the “snowbird” life for a while before moving to Glendale, AZ for a few years. But she returned and settled in Dover Plains in 2019. She worked for Sears nearly 25 years; then for JAI Press for 15 years. Anne also volunteered with Corporate Outreach. An area man was arrested after forcing an Uber driver to take him to New York when he allegedly became physically violent in Fairfield County. Westchester resident, Christopher Doherty, age 57, of Larchmont, turned himself in to police on Thursday, Aug. 12, for the incident which took place on Friday, July 30 in Darien, authorities said. I-95 Reopens Following Three-Vehicle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailers
Traffic on I-95 in Westchester County has cleared following a crash between two tractor-trailers and a vehicle. The crash, which took place in Larchmont around 8:15 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, closed all southbound lanes after one of the tractor-trailers jack-knifed blocking all lanes of traffic, New York State Police Trooper Tara McCormick said. A small fuel spill also had to be cleaned up at the scene, further delaying traffic which is still slow due to a secondary accident because of the traffic delays of up to six miles, McCormick said. A Fairfield County man was busted driving drunk with a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit on I-95 in Westchester, New York State Police said.
