The two people killed during a single-vehicle crash in Newtown over the weekend have been identified as Newtown residents and graduates of Newtown High School. Two Killed After Jeep Crashes Off Road Into Ravine In Newtown
Two occupants of a Jeep were killed after it crashed off the road and into a ravine overnight in Northern Fairfield County. The crash occurred on Route 34 (Berkshire Road) in the area of Jordan Hill Road in Newtown at about 2 a.m. Sunday, June 23, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde of the Newtown Police Department. Police say that the older model Jeep Cherokee had driven off the westbound shoulder of Route 34 into a hundred foot, heavily wooded ravine, according to police.
