Woman Who Flees Scene After Car Crashes Into Guardrail Charged With DUI, New Canaan Police Say An elderly Fairfield County woman is facing charges in New Canaan after she allegedly struck a guardrail while driving and proceeded to take off and return to her home, police said. Investigators from the New Canaan Police Department received a report shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, from a passerby who reported that a vehicle had just struck a guardrail on New Norwalk Road and failed to stop.
