CT Driver Dies After Crashing Into Side Of Restaurant, Police Say A 22-year-old Connecticut man was killed after crashing into the side of a restaurant. The incident took place in New Haven around 6:15 p.m., on Tuesday, June 14. Responding police officers located a Toyota Highlander that had crashed into the side of Scarpellino’s restaurant on Forbes Avenue, said Officer Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police. Inside the vehicle, officers found Wilmer Lopez, age 22, of New Haven, with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital where he died from his injuries, Shumway said. Connecticut Man Shot Dead On City Street, Police Say Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help in the shooting death of a 30-year-old man on a city street. The shooting took place around 5:30 a.m., Sept. 5 in New Haven County. According to Officer Scott Shumway of the New Haven Police, the department received multiple 911 calls regarding gunfire on Chamberlain Street, between Chamberlain Place and Forbes Avenue.  Responding officers located a 30-year-old North Branford man who was struck by gunfire.  The victim, identified as Zaire Luciano, was pronounced dead on the scene. Seen Him? $500 Reward For Information On Suspected Bank Robber Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing a Citizen’s Bank on Thursday, Oct. 8. The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering $500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robber. New Haven Police said the Citizen’s Bank on Forbes Avenue in New Haven was robbed on Thursday around 12:40 p.m. The suspect, a white, bald man, had entered the bank, approached a teller window, and handed the teller a robbery note, police said.
