Stamford Parolee Nabbed With Guns, Drugs During Stop, Police Say A Fairfield County man who is a convicted felon on parole was nabbed on alleged drug and gun charges during a traffic stop. Evans Powell, age 30, was busted on Friday, Aug. 6, following a three-week investigation after receiving word that he selling drugs in Stamford, authorities said.  Stamford PD Capt. Richard Conklin said Powell, who is recently out of jail and on parole, is "very familiar to the department" for a host of different crimes ranging from assaults to sex crimes to drug dealing. Suspect Charged In Stamford Park Stabbing A Stamford man who was nabbed by police for stabbing another man in Lione Park Tuesday night was also wanted for pending drug and domestic violence cases.  Evans “Indian” Powell, 26, had been charged with assault and carrying a dangerous weapon for stabbing another man in the neck and back because he owed him $20 bucks for drugs, according to the arrest affidavit. The victim, who is listed in stable condition, according to police, said the fight got out of hand when he saw Powell had a knife and he grabbed a wrench to protect himself. Police Nab Stamford Man For Stabbing In Park A Stamford man was nabbed within hours after stabbing another man in Leone Park following a fight.Evans Powell, 26, was apprehended by Stamford detectives about 4 p.m. Wednesday after the injured man drove to Stamford Hospital for treatment after being stabbed Tuesday night, said Lt.
