Speeding Stamford Man, 22, Nabbed In Wilton For DUI, Driving On Suspended License, Police Say
A speeding 22-year-old Fairfield County man was charged with allegedly driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
Pedro Jesus Aguilar Madrid, of Stamford, was stopped on Thursday, Nov. 23, in Wilton driving a Ford Fusion for driving 68 mph in a 30 mph zone, said Wilton Police.
During the stop, Madrid was found to be under the influence of alcohol, said Lt. Anna Tornello, of the Wilton Police.
Tornello said in addition, Madrid's driver's license was suspended, due to a previous DUI arrest.

CT City Official Charged With Hit-Run That Left Teen Critical
The chairman of a Connecticut city's zoning board has been charged with running down a teen on a scooter and then leaving the area.
New Haven County resident John Egan, age 58, of Waterbury, the Zoning Commission chairman and former head of the Parks and Recreation Department, was arrested on Wednesday, May 31, for the incident that took place in Waterbury on Monday, May 26, said Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police.
The crash took place just after 12 a.m., in the area of West Main Street at Highland Avenue, Bessette said.

Stamford Woman Stopped Near Intersection Drove Under Influence, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman was arrested for alleged DUI after police received calls of a possible intoxicated driver.
The incident took place in New Canaan around 9:20 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 22 in the area of Frogtown Road and Weed Street.
According to Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police, responding officers found the vehicle stopped on Frogtown Road near Hanford Lane.
Upon speaking with the driver, identified as Christina Lynette Furniss, age 43, of Stamford, officers detected signs of impairment, Ferraro said.

A New England woman is facing multiple charges for allegedly driving under the influence and causing a crash in Connecticut that injured five, including two children, state police announced.

A Fairfield County man was charged with driving under the influence after being found asleep behind the wheel of his Subaru sedan.
Billy Estrada, age 30, of Stamford, was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 4, after a Darien Police officer spotted the car in the middle of the road at the intersection of Hollow Tree Ridge Road and Allwood Road.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he could see the Estrada apparently sleeping. After several attempts, officers were able to rouse Estrada, said Sgt. James Palmieri of the Darien Police.

A Fairfield County woman has been arrested after turning herself in to police on an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence.
Suzanne Lancey, age 45, of Norwalk, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 1, for an event that took place on Sunday, Nov. 8, in Wilton.
During the Nov. 8 event, Lancey allegedly hit a mailbox on Westport road in the opening of a resident's driveway, said Wilton Police Lieutenant Gregg Phillipson.
