New CT DMV Website Allows Motorists To Schedule Appointments, Complete Other Tasks Online
Comically - and aggravatingly - long lines at the DMV may soon be a thing of the past in Connecticut. Using lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, Connecticut unveiled a new DMV website that will make it more accessible for residents to utilize services remotely. Among the new online services include the ability to request a duplicate driver’s license, schedule appointments ahead of time, send for a non-driver ID, or access to one’s driving history. Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said on Tuesday, March 2 that the new website will increase the number of tasks and transactions that can be …

ID Deadline For Boarding Domestic Flights Extended
Travelers will have an extra year to “get real” before needing a new license to board domestic flights due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Originally, beginning on Oct. 1, 2020, standard licenses would no longer make the cut for those looking to travel, requiring them to register for a REAL ID to board planes. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced most to stay inside, practice social distancing and closed DMV offices, the Department of Homeland Security announced plans to push that date a year, to Oct. 1, 2021. There are now three different forms of driver’s license or Ne…

ID To Take Domestic Flights
Connecticut residents planning to take a domestic flight are going to have to “get real" within the next nine months if they hope to board their plane. Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 1, a standard Connecticut driver’s license won’t be enough to get on even a domestic flight, and although that is months away, the DMV is encouraging residents to get ahead of the game. The upgraded, enhanced ID will feature a star in the upper-righthand corner. The REAL ID will feature a star in the corner of the license. The REAL ID will also become the standard for entering federal facilities. The requirements …
