CT Residents Can Now Text To 911
Connecticut has introduced new emergency telecommunications to help residents alert police in case of an urgent incident via a text message. Connecticut Gov. Daniel Malloy announced this week that the state is introducing a new “Text-to-911” system, which will allow residents to send a text message from a cell phone in emergency situations when it’s unsafe or they are unable to place a phone call. Accounting Firm Adding 110 Jobs By Opening Office In Stamford
An accounting firm will be bringing more than 100 new jobs are set to come to Fairfield County over the next several years. Connecticut Gov. Daniel Malloy announced on Monday that KPMG, the audit, tax and advisory firm, is bringing an estimated 110 jobs over the next five years in a brand new Stamford Office on Washington Boulevard. ID Released For State Trooper Killed In I-84 Crash
Connecticut State Police have identified the trooper who died during a serious crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-84 on Thursday afternoon. Police positively identified Trooper First Class Kevin Miller as the casualty in Thursday’s crash, which shut down a stretch of the eastbound interstate on Thursday as investigators combed the area. Miller’s cruiser collided with the tractor-trailer shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, near exit 68.
