Norwalk City Meeting On Zoom Disrupted By Antisemitic, Racist Remarks, Officials Say Alleged racist and antisemitic remarks made during a city meeting on Zoom are being investigated by police in Fairfield County and have caused an outcry by the mayor and other officials.  The incident took place in Norwalk on Tuesday, Jan. 16 during the public comment period of the meeting of the Ordinance Committee which was discussing a redistricting ordinance, the sale of city property, and blight prevention. Styrofoam Ban Approved For Norwalk Styrofoam packing will soon be a thing of the past for one of Fairfield County’s largest cities. In an effort to aid the environment, the Common Council voted unanimously this week to ban styrofoam in Norwalk, effective as of April 22, 2020. According to studies, styrofoam is responsible for approximately 30 percent of all landfill volume nationwide and 20 percent of the litter in bodies of water.
