Career Criminal Nabbed In Greenwich Catalytic Converter Theft, Police Say A  career criminal who brandished a weapon and threatened he had a gun during the theft of a catalytic converter has been arrested on a warrant, authorities announced. Man Arrested In Connection With $6K 'Grandparent Scam,' Greenwich Police Say A 30-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly was caught retrieving a UPS package that contained the proceeds from a "grandparent scam," said the Greenwich Police. Frederick Delacruz, of the Bronx, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 9, after he was allegedly seen retrieving the package that he believed contained $6,000 that were the proceeds of a grandparent scam in the Byram section of town, Greenwich Police said.  Delacruz led officers on a foot pursuit after being confronted by officers, police said.  He was apprehended a short distance away and was arrested without further inci…

Suspect Arrested In Connection With 2016 Greenwich Burglary Police have made an arrest in connection with a 2016 burglary in the Byram section of Greenwich. Darren Simpson, 53, of Poughkeepsie, was extradited from the Westchester County Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in connection with the Oct. 18, 2016 robbery on North Water Street, Greenwich police said. He was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.   Simpson is being held on $150,000 bond.
