Police Asking For Help Identifying Man Wanted In Purse Snatching Shelton Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly snatched a purse from an 82-year-old woman more than two months ago. The incident took place while the woman was standing in line at Planet Pizza at 350 Bridgeport Ave., in Shelton, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango. Caught: Suspect In Bank Robbery Apprehended, Shelton Police Say Shelton Police were able to snatch a bank robber within two days with the help of the public. The department had put out several photos of the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Michael Mangiafico of Seymour after he allegedly robbed the Key Bank in Shelton on Monday.  Shelton Police and detectives, with help from the Seymour Police Department, arrested Mangiafico on Wednesday and charged him with robbery and larceny, said Lt. Shelton Police Looking To Identify Bank Robbery Suspect Shelton Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who robbed a Key Bank on Monday. The robbery took place around 10 a.m. Monday at the bank located at 794 Bridgeport Ave., Shelton Police Det. Christopher Nugent. According to Nugent, the man walked into the bank and passed a teller a note demanding money and implying he had a weapon, he said. No one was injured during the incident. Fairfield County Woman Caught After Stealing 84-Year-Old's Purse, Police Say Police nabbed a woman who ripped off a purse from an 84-year-old woman in May. Denise Purciello, 59, of Orange, was arrested Thursday in connection with the theft and use of the woman's credit card, according to Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango. The theft occurred while the elderly woman was shopping on May 8 at the ShopRite store in Shelton and had her purse in her cart, Bango said. Police On The Hunt For Fairfield County Purse Thief Shelton police are asking the public for help identifying a woman who stole the purse of an 86-year-old woman and then used her credit card to go shopping. The theft occurred around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, while the woman was shopping at the Shop Rite located at 875 Bridgeport Ave., in Shelton, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.
