Westhill Trounced by Soaring Norwalk Squad, 41-13

STAMFORD, Conn. – The Westhill High School football team was in for an unpleasant surprise against Norwalk High School on Saturday. Traditionally a running-based team, Norwalk took to the air on Westhill as Bears quarterback Delshawn scorched the Vikings for 181 yards passing. Norwalk racked up 458 yards of total offense. When the dust settled, Norwalk had crushed Westhill, 41-13.

Westhill showed flashes of the athleticism it has on its team, highlighted by an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Dylan Moye to tie the game at 7-7. That would be the closest Westhill would get, however, as Norwalk’s rock-solid defense held the Vikings to just 35 yards of total offense in the first half.

Moye provided the only other highlight on the day for Westhill, breaking free early in the fourth quarter for a 70-yard rushing touchdown. The Bears’ line stymied Moye otherwise, holding the Vikings’ running back to just 12 yards rushing on 11 carries outside of that one long run.

Westhill (0-3) will try again for its first win when the Vikings travel to Bridgeport Central (0-3) on Thursday for a 6 p.m. game.
