DARIEN, Conn. Westhill ran up against the Darien field hockey juggernaut in Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference play and lost 7-0. Darien kept its undefeated season rolling. Its 2011 record is now 11-0. Westhill falls to 4-4-1.
Darien got three goals from Hollis Perticone, and a pair from both Sam Wright and Galen Rohn. Assist stats were earned by Wright (2), Maggie Wells (2), Kat Huber and Mollie Riegel.
Westhill's goalie, Sarah Ehlrich was very busy, making 20 saves. Darien's Danica Hornick, by contrast, was only challenged once.
Next up, Westhill hosts a Stamford team at Rye High School on Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m.
