Stamford Youth Football League Action

STAMFORD, Conn. ? The following recaps highlight recent game action in the Stamford Youth Football League.

VARSITY DIVISION: 

Turn of River 31, Rippowam 28. The battle of the unbeaten resulted in a hard fight with Turn of River edging out Rippowam 31-28. Leading the way was Aaron Petitford with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Adding to the offense as quarterback was Jack Cebo with two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. Angel Martinez had one touchdown rushing behind the line of Brandon Lyons, Alexis Serrano and Nelson Meja. The defense was led by Edwin Minoso, TJ Crumbley, Derick Adams and Cristian Castillo. For Rippowam, the offense was led by Tyrell Alexander, Tyequan Bonaparte, Jon Michael Bivona and David Bonaney. They were protected by an offensive line consisting of Sam Colandro, Sha’yaa Brown, Austin Caporale, Fisnik Hoti and Daniel Wilmont. The defense had the help of Micheal Molgano, Lexie Burke, Chris Desir, Tyrell Diaz, Gregory Baptiste and Christian Jeffers. 

Scofield 24,  Cloonan 6. Scofield Varsity defeated Cloonan 24-6 on scoring drives led by Kyle Przypek with two TDs and Donny Depina with one TD followed by three extra points by Christian Garcia. Mark Serricchio had 75 yards rushing behind the offensive line of Will Dorvilier,Tyler Cubano and RJ Pascale. Defensive standouts were Mike Ripegno, Ryan Holbrook, Geoge Nikolopoulos, Carlos Hermida and Justin Greene. 

Dolan 22, New Haven 20. Dolan came from behind to beat New Haven 22 to 20. Jay Devito threw a 35-yard pass to Kevin Fuller, then Tyler Ferris ran it in from the 10-yard line to take the lead. Devito had a rushing touchdown and Ferris had two. Zack Alcin and Jesus Delgado also played well. Dan Maduri kicked two big extra points to help win the game. 

Trailblazers 26, Trinity 0. Trailblazers varsity defeated Trailblazers 26-0. The Trailblazers were led by Greg Flemming, Chris Rodriguez, Parish Rowell, D'Andre Williams on offense and Steffan Harding and Giovanni Pinto on defense.

JV DIVISION: 

Turn of River 21, Cloonan 14. Jahmani Thorton had three touchdowns to lead the Titans over Cloonan. Turn of River's offense was led by Max Pagano, Jason Reyes, Sean Hurley and Luke Rossi. The defense was led by Colin Callahan, Ryan Lubowitz and Shawn Caban.  

Dolan 32, Trinity 12. Dolan defeated Trinity 32-12. Dolan scored five times. John Kola (two touchdowns), Connor Hickey (two touchdowns, including a 70-yard interception return) and Scott Moreau scored. Dolan's offensive line was led by Alex Colon, Anthony Cogliano, Adam Piersa, Woody McGuiness and Brendan Fahey. The defense was led by Kareme Ray, Sean Mailhot, Willam Johnson, Dylan Fyffe and Dylan Schneider.

Trinity was led on offense by Wesley Midy (two touchdowns), Brian Noone, Camrin Lesperance, Telly Colarossi and Kevin Marin. Defense was led by Devonte Sinclair and Samuel Adolf. Special teams were led by Rosario Pugliese II, Devon Hudson and BJ Chaltas.

Scofield 12, Trailblazers 0. Scofield was led by Jaylen Walker with two touchdown runs. Other offensive standouts were Brendan Holtzclaw, Arthur Yaniv, Jordan Goins and John MacDonald. Defensive standouts were Nick Nunez, Ray Clark, Matius Ruiz and Henry Carucci. The Trailblazers were led by Charles Razor III, Tyrik Gill, Aldane O'Conner, and Everett (CJ) Brown, who forced two turnovers on defense.

ELEMENTARY DIVISION: 

Giants 25, Jets 0. The Giants defeated the Jets 25-0. The Giants offense was led by Ja'Kai Young. The Giants scored four rushing touchdowns from Isaiah Williams, Jaki Elliott and Dayvont'e McElveen. Laron Webster, Isaiah Johnson and Ja'den Hosten provided great blocking for the offense. The defense was led by Kenneth Dyson (two sacks), Justin Gelin, Ja'Den Williams, Jayden Brayboy and Anthony Cooper. The Jets were led on offense by the rushing of Anthony Anderson, with the help of blocking by Joseph Boccuzzi, James Gerard and Daniel Brennan. The defense was led by Lenny Garcia, Jack Dewing and Sean Mullins.

Raiders 30,  Patriots 6. The Raiders defeated the Patriots 30–6 in a very physical game. The Raiders were led by Bob Zmarzlak, with two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. AJ Laconna had a rushing touchdown as well. Noah Skaug had a touchdown pass and made three extra points. Also contributing to the offense was Sam Pensiero, with a 25-yard reception; Cooper Brill, with two long returns on punts and kickoffs; George Psichopaidis; Jonathon Nicolaisen; and Keyli Hinton, who had an interception return for 15 yards. The defense was led by Chris Della Jacono, Cole Imbrogno, Matt Hallinan, Sean Travers, Ryan Scarvey and Kyle Yelensky.

The Patriots were led on offense by Isan Spruill — who scored the Patriots' touchdown, Emory Alexis, Caleb Benkwitt, Alex Walker and Dylan Johnson. The defense was led by Nyjah Watkin, Christopher Vitti, Jonathon Oliveri and Jason Musitano.

Titans 12, Cowboys 0. The Titans defeated the Cowboys 12-0. The Cowboys were led on offense by Tyriq Deveaux, Todd Guttman and Terrance Mapp Jr. Jaden Dawkins caught a pass. Sterling Gregg, Matt Rubino, Aaron Watkins, Jay Lockwood, and Jason Albert played hard for the Cowboy defense.

MITEY MITE DIVISION: 

The Wolverines and Longhorns battled on Sunday. The Wolverines were led on offense by Amir Preston (who scored a touchdown), Tristan Pearl and Jack Stokes. The defense was led by Dillon McGarry, Daniel Barrangan, Darian Murray and Angello Pellicci. The Longhorns were led by Reginald "Reggie" Booker, Jaylen Lesperance, Anthony Bivona, and Luis Moran. The defensive charge was led by Omari Lewis, Malik Rivers, Rohan Minott, and Jason Morataya.    

The Gators and Huskies battled on Sunday. The Gators were led on offense by Devin Little, Nasir Thorton and Tyree Harris. The defensive charge was led by John Dobres, David Mejia and Joel Mendez. The Huskies were led by Jamaree Palermo, Jeffrey Lefort (who scored a touchdown), Jordan Collins, Jake Lavaris, Dominik Skowronek and Anthony Lowe.
