Stamford White Sox Reach League Title Game

STAMFORD, Conn. – The Stamford White Sox rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday night to defeat Mill Basin Mariners, 3-2, in the Westchester Baseball Association semifinals.

The victory sends the White Sox, the defending WBA champions, to the championship game on Sunday against an opponent to be determined.

Stamford's winning rally started with a single by Chris LoRusso. Brandon Romaniello singled and Jaime Russell reached on a bunt. Matt Inzitari's groundout scored LoRusso, and Bobby Horn was intentionally walked. Greg Smith's bunt scored Romaniello with the winning run.

Mike Sciarretta went five strong innings, and Steve Rivera followed with two effective innings to get the victory.
