Rain Forces Doubleheader for Ruth Team

Weather has dealt the Stamford Babe Ruth 15's a difficult hand in its shot at a World Series title. Stamford's scheduled game against host team Monticello, Ark., was postponed due to rain Sunday.

The game has been moved to 8 p.m. Tuesday, but Stamford already has a game to play that morning against Torrance, Calif. To make matters worse, Stamford has lost its first two games in the Babe Ruth World Series.

If Stamford wants a chance at the elimination round, it will now need to win two games in one day. Steven D'Annolfo was slated to start Sunday's contest and will likely take the mound Tuesday. Also, the team lost Kyle DiVico to an ankle injury Saturday for the rest of the series.

Stamford plays Torrance at 11 a.m. Tuesday, followed by the tilt with Monticello at 8 p.m.
