Open-Water Swim To Benefit Cancer Gene Therapy

The fifth annual Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford Swim is making a big splash for cancer research, prevention and treatment.

Anyone who enjoys swimming at any level is invited to participate in the event to be held June 25. In the past five events, the Greenwich-Stamford swim has generated $700,000 in donations for the local beneficiary, Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy. This year’s swim hopes to bring the total raised from the five years to $1 million.

The center, on the Greenwich/Stamford border, is the nation’s only nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to funding cancer cell and gene therapy research. Its headquarters is the start and finish line for the open water swim.

Swimmers have four options: a half-mile course, a 1.5-mile course, a 3-mile challenge or 5-mile challenge. All participations must register online.
