STAMFORD, Conn. -- Divers from Stamford swim clubs competed at the Fairfield County Swimming League championships Monday at the Patterson Club in Fairfield. Boys and girls performed on the 1- and 3-meter boards in the 14-and-under and 17-and-under age groups. The 12-and-under championships will be held Aug. 6 at Burning Tree in Greenwich, and the 10-and-under championships Aug. 11 at New Canaan Field Club.
Long Ridge Club, coached by Jim Bowser, is the defending league diving champion. The team got off to a good start Monday when Sean Burston won the boys 14-and-under 3-meter board. The team's Rachel Burston and Kirsten Parkinson finished No. 2 and 3 on the girls 14-and-under 1-meter board. Lizzie Fitzpatrick of the Tokeneke Club won the 1-meter board for 14-and-girls.
