Clairol Clinches Springdale First-Half Title

Clairol clinched the first-half championship of the Springdale Little League on Tuesday night with a 7-3 victory over Instant Replay at Springdale School.

Mark Serricchio picked up the victory to improve to 8-0 for Clairol, which is also 8-0. The winners scored three in the first inning to take an early lead. Jonas Harper, Alex Colon and Nico Kydes had RBIs after Serricchio started the inning with a double. Zachary Putt drove home Kydes with a run in the third.

Instant Replay got two back in the fourth after Matt DeNicola tripled and came home on an error. Ryan Holbrook scored on a long double by Christopher Raduazzo.

Clairol responded with three in the bottom of the fourth. Serricchio doubled and scored on Harper's double. Colon and Kydes added RBI singles.

DeNicola's RBI triple in the fifth accounted for Instant Replay's final run. Michael Cammarota scored after drawing a leadoff walk.

Instant Replay turned a great double play when DeNicola snared a shot by Jelani Jackson and threw to first.

 

Serricchio started for Clairol, followed by Harper, Putt and Colon. They combined to hold Clairol to three hits. Clairol has outscored opponents, 81-7, and thrown four shutouts in its perfect start.
