Volunteers Needed for Stamford School Proposal

Stamford resident Jack Bryant is forming an advisory committee to look into establishing a Stamford charter school for boys, and he's searching for community members to serve on the panel. Bryant, president of the Stamford NAACP, wants the school to focus on boys in prekindergarten through third grade. He says it would be a way to address the achievement gap plaguing the city and state. Currently, Connecticut has the largest achievement gap in the United States.

The advisory committee will begin working immediately to make a presentation in January. To volunteer your time and expertise, or for more information, contact Bryant at 203-249-6933.
