Stamford Schools Offering Free Meals To Students This Summer

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Public Schools is once again participating in the federally funded Seamless Summer Food Program and will serve up free meals for city kids while school is out of session. 

This program, an extension of the National School Lunch Program, provides meals to children in summer. The program is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is administered by the Connecticut State Department of Education. 

Under the program, nutritious meals will be provided through Chartwells Dining Services, free of charge, to all Stamford children, 18 years and under, at the following locations:

  • Chester Addison Center at 245 Selleck St. will offer breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting July 6 through Aug. 7
  • Julia A. Stark School at 398 Glenbrook Road will offer breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. starting July 6 through July 31.
  • Salvation Army at 198 Selleck St. will offer lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 7.
  • Davenport School at 1300 Newfield Ave. will offer breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • YMCA at 909 Washington Blvd. will offer breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • Trailblazer at 83 Lockwood Ave. will offer breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting July 6 through Aug. 7.
  • Westover School at 412 Stillwater Ave. will offer breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • Hart School at 61 Adams Ave. will offer breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • Stillmeadow School at 800 Stillwater Ave. will offer breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • Cloonan Middle School at 11 W. North St. will offer lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • Rogers International School at 102 Blachely Road will offer breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting July 6 trough July 31.
  • Boys & Girls Club at 4 Horse Neck Lane will offer breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • SoundWaters at Cover Island Park at 1281 Cove Road will offer breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting July 6 through July 31.
  • Rippowam School at 381 High Ridge Road will offer breakfast from 8  to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting July 6 through July 31.
  • Newfield School at 345 Pepperidge Road will offer breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. at 40 Stillwater Ave. will offer breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. starting July 6 through Aug. 14.
  • Barrett Playground at Belltown Park will offer lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting June 29 through Aug. 14.
