Stamford Kids Head to School, Despite Day Off

STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford kids may have had the day off from school for Columbus Day, but that didn’t stop Gabriel Amortegui and other kids from heading to the Springdale School playground.

Fortunately for the kids, the weather was perfect, temperatures in the low to mid 80s and not a cloud in the sky. Tuesday, another day off for Stamford Public Schools students, also looks good, with temperatures expected to be in the low 70s and skies mostly sunny, the National Weather Service says.

After Tuesday, rain clouds and colder temperatures will move in for the rest of the week, forecasters say. The likelihood of rain will fluctuate between 40 percent and 80 percent Wednesday through Friday, and temperatures will remain in the 60s, according to the weatherman.

Sunshine is expected to return for the weekend.
