Stamford Doctor Named Teacher of the Year

STAMFORD, Conn. — Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeon’s class of 2013 named Dr. Noel Robins of Stamford Hospital its teacher of the year.

“There is no greater pleasure than educating others and knowing you are a positive influence and motivator in someone’s life and career,” Robin said in a Stamford Hospital press release.

This is the fourth time Dr. Robin has been named teacher of the year. The classes of 2000, 2008 and 2009 also gave him the honor. The class of 2006 honored him with the Charles W. Bohmfalk Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching.

Robin is a professor of clinical medicine, and an associate dean at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has also taught at Harvard University and New York Medical College.

He has been a physician for over 40 years and serves as the chairman of the Department of Medicine for Stamford Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, and is a fellow of American College of Physicians
