Kids Dig In at Stamford Bash for the 'Young Child'

STAMFORD, Conn. — "Dirt" was on the menu this past week as youngsters at Gray Farms Nursery School in Stamford celebrated "The Week of the Young Child." Not garden variety dirt, mind you, but a yummy mix of gummy worms and chocolate pudding.

In addition, school's the juniors (3-year-olds) got to have a Pajama Day, a press release from the school said.

The seniors (4-year-olds) brought their dads in to share a special breakfast, and also gave their fathers hand-painted t-shirts, the release said.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children sponsors the week to give attention to the needs of children and their families, and to recognize the programs that fill those needs, the organization's website said. This year’s “Week of the Young Child” runs April 22 to 28, the website said.
