Three Stamford residents earned bachelor degrees from Quinnipiac University on Sunday, May 22. They are: Heather L. Beaumont, B.A. in communications; Shanice J. Owens, B.A. in sociology;
and Jonathan Velez, B.S. in international business.
The undergraduate commencement exercises were the 80th in Quinnipiacs history, a release said.
Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian university located in Hamden. The university enrolls about 8,000 students in 52 undergraduate and more than 20 graduate programs. It includes a School of Business, School of Communications, School of Education, School of Health Sciences, School of Law and College of Arts and Sciences.
In 2009, Quinnipiac was named the top up-and-coming school with master's programs in the Northern Region by U.S. News & World Reports Americas Best Colleges issue. Quinnipiac also is recognized in Princeton Review's The Best 373 Colleges.
