Woman, 70, Struck By Minivan As She Heads To Work In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 70-year-old woman heading to work was struck by a minivan Wednesday, Dec. 16, and taken to Stamford Hospital with injuries to her head, police told the Stamford Advocate.

Stamford Police said a 70-year-old woman was stuck by a car after getting off the bus near the Trader Joe's in Stamford.

The accident took place in front of Trader Joe’s as the victim was crossing High Ridge Road to get to her job, the Advocate said. 

Sheelakumari Sivakumar, 45, was issued a ticket for failure to grant the right away to a pedestrian, said the Stamford Advocate.

Denis, who was crossing with the signal, was admitted to the critical care unit as a precaution, the report said.
