Police had gone to the home of 26-year-old Tyrone Dotson Wednesday afternoon to serve arrest warrants for two counts of narcotics sales, the Stamford Advocate reported. Dotson was already out on bail for a prior drug arrest, and took off in an Audi when police showed up at his door, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Dotson sped through the city at speeds of around 60 mph, with police in pursuit, before a traffic jam ground the chase to a halt about six minutes later, police told the Stamford Advocate. Police were able to apprehend him easily at that point, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Police found a small amount of marijuana in his car, and in his home they found three bullets, some cash, a marijuana grinder and a digital scale, the Stamford Advocate reported. In addition to the two narcotics sale arrest warrants, Dotson was also charged with engaging police in pursuit, possession of marijuana, hindering prosecution, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless endangerment, violation of a protective order. He was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond, the Stamford Advocate reported.
