STAMFORD, Conn. — The principal at Westhill High School in Stamford has alerted parents and students to two threatening messages found in two bathrooms on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Westhill Principal Michael Rinaldi said the Stamford Police Department is taking steps to keep students safe at the school.

"Westhill is providing a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff members, as well as communicating accurate and timely information to you regarding issues of safety, is a top priority," said Rinaldi.

"Therefore I want to follow up on the incident reported [Tuesday], and let you know a second vague threat has been discovered in another WHS bathroom [Wednesday]," he said.

"The Stamford Police Department has been, and will continue to be, actively involved in investigating and resolving this matter."

Rinaldi did not specify what the messages said.

"Please be assured, the police are continuing to take any and all necessary precautionary measures, to ensure our safety," Rinaldi said. "Out of an abundance of caution there will be an increased police presence at WHS over the next several days. At this time classes will be held as scheduled. I will keep you updated as necessary."

Sgt. Joseph Kennedy said the messages were vague and that police are working with the Board of Education to investigate, the Stamford Advocate said.

Police are also reviewing school video, the Advocate said.
