Teen Arrested With Loaded Semiautomatic Pistol In His Pocket

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford teen who was trying to hide from police was found with a loaded semiautomatic pistol in his pocket, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Police were patrolling on Williams Street late at night when they saw a teen crouching behind a parked car, the Stamford Advocate reported. When officers approached him, he put his hand in his pocket, and when they told him to take his hand out, he fled the scene, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Police caught up to the teen and tackled him, and found the loaded semiautomatic pistol in his pocket, the Stamford Advocate reported. Police told the Stamford Advocate that it had five bullets in it and the serial numbers were filed off.

The teen was charged with possession of a firearm without a permit and illegally altering the identification number on a firearm, the Stamford Advocate reported. The gun was sent to a state lab for ballistics tests, police told the Stamford Advocate.
