STAMFORD, Conn. Police arrested a Stamford woman Sunday morning after she left four children at her Fairfield Avenue home by themselves, Stamford police Sgt. Kevin Keenan said.
The children were between the ages of 7-12, and police were unable to find Sindy Cameros-Perez for eight hours, Keenan said. Upon arrival, police watched the children until the Department of Children and Families showed up and took the kids, he said.
It was unsure if Cameros-Perez was the mother of all four children, but it is believed she was the mother of at least one, Keenan said.
Keenan was unsure who notified police of the situation or where the suspect eventually was arrested.
Cameros-Perez, 29, was charged with four counts of risk of injury to a child and appeared in court Monday, Keenan said.
