Analaura Aveiro, 19, of 37 Woodridge Drive S., is charged with third-degree assault, stalking and criminal trespass, police said.

The 23-year-old victim had recently resumed her relationship with her boyfriend after they had been separated for a few months, police said. During that separation, the ex-boyfriend began a relationship with Aveiro, police said. When that foundered, the boyfriend returned to the 23-year-old, Sgt. Kelly Connelly said.

The complainant told police that once she resumed the relationship, it angered Aviero, who began to send text messages to her, police said. While driving Friday afternoon, she said Aviero followed her and yelled at her, police said.

"The complainant drove to her mother's residence in the gated community at 2435 Bedford St., hoping to shake the woman by having the gate close before the woman could get in," Connelly said. "Unfortunately, the gate didn't close quick enough and the woman drove in behind the 23-year-old woman and followed her while yelling at her."

The victim called police but got out of her vehicle when Aviero asked whether they could discuss the issue as "mature adults," Connelly said.

As the 23-year-old got out her vehicle, Aviero punched her in the face, police said.

When officers arrived, Aviero said it was the 23-year-old who was doing the stalking, police said. However, officers arrested and charged Aviero in the incident, police said.
