Shawn Young, 18, of 46 Taylor St., was charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery by Stamford Police on Thursday. He had been in custody at another facility and was brought to Stamford on Thursday to face charges, police said.
Young was one of two men who confronted a man outside a convenience store in the area of Henry and Pacific streets at about 11 p.m., police said. The victim was first offered crack cocaine but declined and continued about his business in the store, police said.
The two men followed the victim out of the convenience store and confronted him again on Woodland Avenue, with one man pulling a knife on him and demanding money, police said.
The victim handed over the $70 and fled the scene, as did the two men, police said.
Bond was set at $50,000, but Young remains in custody. His next scheduled appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford is June 25.
Police did not have any information on the second suspect.
