Kenny Segura, of Stamford, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after Officers Jonathan Gale and Matthew Romano stopped the car he was riding in for a seat-belt violation on West Park Place, said Sgt. Brian Butler.
As the two officers approached the car, they could smell marijuana, and Segura, the passenger, said he had some.
Both were searched and a small amount of marijuana was found in a plastic bag in the passenger door pocket. When officers searched the car, they found two packages of FlavRx sour gummy candy infused with Tetrahydrocannabinol, the active ingredient in pot, Butler said.
Each bag contained 10 apple-flavored candies.
Segura admitted the candy and marijuana were his, Butler said.
He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and failure to wear a seatbelt.
The candies are for sale legally in some states.
