A 2002 Nissan Altima sedan traveling south on Alvord Lane went through a red light at the intersection of West Main Street (Route 1) at 8:37 p.m. Friday and collided with a 2007 BMW 328xi station wagon driven by Anthony Andriulli, 73, of Valleywood Road in Cos Cob, police said.
Andriulli was traveling west on West Main Avenue when the Nissan slammed into the passenger side of his BMW, where his wife, Judith, was sitting, police said.
The force of the collision ejected the passenger of the Nissan, Henry Nixon, 50, of Ursula Place in Stamford, police said. Nixon died shortly after he was taken to Stamford Hospital, police said.
The Andriullis were extricated from their BMW, police said. Judith Andriulli died early Saturday morning in Stamford Hospital, police said.
After the collision, police said the female driver of the Nissan fled on foot and ran toward Greenwich. She is described as a black female about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, wearing a gray sweatshirt and/or green jacket over blue jeans.
Police are examining evidence at the scene to try to identify her.
