A male was captured on a surveillance video breaking and entering the Summer Corner Variety store through the back door and minutes later through the rear of Planet Pizza, both on Summer Street, according to police.

He enters Planet Pizza twice, the video shows. The first time, he is unable to open the cash register. The second time, he rips the cash register from its cords and carries it out of the back door of the pizza joint, the video shows.

The male is described as either white or Hispanic and wearing a gray hoody, black vest, and light-colored sneakers. The suspect has multiple distinctive tattoos on the back of both hands and was seen both with and without the black vest, said police.

Anyone with information about the suspect in the video is asked to contact the Stamford Police Department Detective Bureau at 203-977-4407.

If anyone recognizes the suspect, they should not approach him, but should call the police.
