Police told the Stamford Advocate that late last year they received word that Jorge Restrepo-Vinasco and his son Ivan Vinasco were selling cocaine in Stamford. Police worked with the Drug Enforcement Administration and conducted an investigation that included using $2,000 from the DEA to purchase more than two ounces of cocaine from the pair in February, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Last week police executed a search warrant on the father and son's Limerick Street home, where they found 32.6 grams of cocaine as well as $2,700 in cash, scales and packaging supplies, according to the Stamford Advocate. They were charged with operating a drug factory, selling cocaine, possession of narcotics and conspiracy to sell cocaine, and held on $200,000 bonds, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Police told the Stamford Advocate that it is rare for father and son teams to be arrested for selling cocaine together, and that the two sold large quantities of the drug.
