Nicholas Lahines, 43, had been arrested on May 19, 2011, after law enforcement officers discovered that he was making and selling explosive devices from his Bridgeport apartment. He was also involved in the distribution of methamphetamine, as well as immigration fraud. He pleaded guilty in 2012, and in April 2013 was sentenced to five years in prison and four years of supervised release.
Lahines was recently released from prison, and now live in Stamford, according to the Advocate. He was seen by Stamford Police officers rolling through a stop sign near Stillwater Avenue, according to the Stamford Advocate.
He was stopped, and officers found 14 bags of heroin hidden behind the electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle, according to the Stamford Advocate. He was arrested and held on $25,000 bond, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Lahines had previously been arrested last week in Greenwich after he was seen running a red light, according to the Stamford Advocate. When police stopped him, they found a stolen license plate, as well as heroin, paraphernalia, and pills, the Stamford Advocate.
Lahines is on parole and may be remanded, according to the Stamford Advocate.
