Stamford Man Reports Wine Missing

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford man wants the person found who is responsible for taking about $2,400 worth of wine from him, Sgt. Paul Vaccaro said.

The victim called police Thursday after finding many bottles of French wine missing from a house he owns on Westover Road, Vaccaro said. Each bottle was worth about $270, he said.

The man, who lives on Flint Rock Road, had a friend staying at the house on Westover Road from late September through late October and told police he suspects the visitor took the wine, Vaccaro said.

The police report did not say whether the wine was consumed, taken or sold, he said.

The visitor, whose last known address was in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has not answered any of the victim’s calls, Vaccaro said.
